Kerry, Since it is almost Thanksgiving, I wish to share one of the many reasons I have to be thankful this year. A year ago, in October, I became ill. After many hours in the ER, I followed up with my doctor. He did a lot of blood work, and asked if I exercised. I told him I walked 2-3 miles per day 3-4 times per week. He told me that he did not consider walking exercise unless the person walking is over 80. The next day, I got the bad news. My cholesterol was high, and I was borderline diabetic. My doctor advised that he was not going to put me on medication, but I needed to exercise and watch my diet. That’s when I found Kerry and this group of Fit Chicks. I started in November of last year. Last Friday, I returned to the doctor for my check up. I’ve lost a little over 20 pounds, and I’ve lost almost 13% body fat. But, more importantly, my cholesterol is great, and I am no longer borderline diabetic!! I am, by no means, perfect. I know I have to keep working. But, I am so grateful for the improvements in my health. Thank you, Kerry, and all of you who have inspired me in so many ways.
